Ramadan Night 22 - The Ninth Entry

Soon shall We send down
To thee a weighty word.
Truly the rising by night
Is a time when impression
Is more keen and speech
More certain.
True, there is for thee
By day prolonged occupation
With ordinary duties.
But keep in rememberance
The name of they Lord,
And devote thyself
To Him whole-heatedly.
S.73 A.5-8

I was so pleased to read this tonight. I have talked about the wonderful time late at night when I feel closest to God.  It is that time now, and I feel clean and very clear-headed.  When I started this quest to read and react to my Koran, it wasn't a chore, but I had to work at it.  Now I cannot wait to get home to spend my evening with the word of God. Now matter what follows me home from work, no matter what ghost or spectre is troubling me, no matter what real-life disaster is brewing, I can count on them to fade away rapidly as I settle down to read.  In the past, I had trouble sleeping - now I comfortably drift off shortly after closing my Koran.  I love this time of my day, I love this nightly corridor of peace and grace.
