Ramadan Night 21

Furthermore I call
To witness the setting
Of the stars,
And what is indeed
A mighty adjuration
If ye but knew.
S.56 A.75-76

Once again a reference to the setting of the stars.  I sense a different connotation here, one of humility and God's power.  The stars yield to Allah every morning, they are witness to His majesty.  This verse also suggests that although they are beautiful and awe inspiring, they are but part of God's universe and are as fleeting as any other aspect of nature. Only God's word is enduring.  Finally, this repeats the notion that the setting of the stars is a reminder each day to renew our oaths (adjuration) to God, begging for His grace and forgiveness.  I am enjoying these parables and metaphors, they are so rich and beautiful, as is God.

Ramadan Night 20 - The Eighth Entry

And for part of the night
Also praise thou Him,
And at the setting
Of the stars!
S.52 A.49

"The setting of the stars" is so beautiful, I am not sure I have ever heard the expression, but if I did, I did not appreciate it. Once again, small simple things that have alluded me - the importance of fajr prayer.  The setting of the stars herald the arrival of the promise of a new day, the promise of the renewal of God's grace and forgiveness.
